2 Scope and purpose of the collection, processing and use of personal data

The GDPR defines personal data as data that is related to an identified or identifiable natural person. Online identifiers such as IP addresses are classed as personal data unless they are intentionally rendered anonymous.

We collect, process and use your personal data for the following purposes:

2.1 Visiting our website

When you visit our website, data is automatically sent to our website’s server via your device’s browser. This data is temporarily stored in a server log file. The following data is stored:

This data is not stored together with other personal data and is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it is collected.

2.2 Contacting us

Our website enables you to contact us via e-mail. In this case, the information you provide is processed for the purpose of handling your request.

Our legitimate interest in processing your request is the basis for the processing of your personal data. If contact is established as part of the fulfilment of a contract to which you are a contracting party or as part of pre-contractual measures, this forms an additional basis for the processing of your personal data.

Your personal data will be deleted as soon as you have communicated it to the data protection coordinator.

2.3 Trade fair visits

When you visit us at a trade fair, we will process your inventory data (for example, names, addresses and contact details).

The submission of an offer requested by you is the basis for the processing of your personal data.

2.4 In connection with interested parties, customers, suppliers and service providers

We process inventory data (for example, names, addresses and contact details) and contractual data (for example, services rendered, names of contacts, payment information) for the fulfilment of contractual and pre-contractual obligations.

The fulfilment of a contract to which you are a contracting party or the implementation of pre-contractual measures is the basis for the processing of your personal data.

If we store your personal data as part of a contractual relationship, this data will be stored for as long as the contractual relationship exists and for no longer than limitation periods in which we may bring a claim are valid, or legal or contractual retention obligations exist.

3 Transfer of personal data

We treat your personal data as strictly confidential and only pass it on when you have given your express consent, when we are legally obligated to pass on your data, or when we are obligated to do so in order to assert our rights, particularly in relation to claims arising from the contractual relationship. We also pass on your personal data to third parties when this is required within the scope of the use of the website or for the performance of any services requested by you, or if a processing relationship exists. Use of the transferred data by third parties is strictly limited to the named purposes.

4 Retention period

Wherever possible, your personal data is deleted or anonymised as soon as it is no longer required for the abovementioned purposes or, if applicable, the prescribed retention period has expired.

We will also delete your personal data if you send an e-mail requesting us to do so to, provided that no legal or contractual retention obligations or other security obligations exist with regard to this data.

5 Cookies

5.1 What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies which are placed and stored on your device using your browser. When you call up a website, a cookie may be stored on your operating system. 5.2 What type of cookies do we use?

6 Analysis tools

6.1 Google Analytics

On the basis of our legitimate interests, we make use of Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google uses cookies.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is then stored. Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Framework and thereby guarantees to uphold European data protection legislation (… uses this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services related to the use of the website and the Internet. Google does not merge the IP address transferred from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics with other data.

We only use Google Analytics with active IP anonymisation. This means that Google truncates the user’s IP address in member states of the European Union as well as in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will only be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there in exceptional cases.

The measures taken are intended to guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data, as well as the long-term availability and capacity of our systems and services when processing your personal data. They are also intended to ensure that your personal data can be restored and accessed again in a timely manner in the event of a physical or technical incident.

Encryption of your data is also included as part of our security measures. All personal data you enter online is transferred via an encrypted transmission path, meaning that this personal data cannot be viewed by unauthorised third parties at any time.

Our data processing activities and security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

11 Use of the website by minors

The website is intended for use by an adult audience. Minors, in particular children under the age of 16, are not permitted to share personal data with us or to register for a service without the approval or consent of their parents or legal guardians. Any such data we find to have been shared with us will be deleted. The child’s parents or legal representatives may contact us to request that the data be deleted or the services cancelled.
